Fake Rookwood

These three pots, though the same in appearance, are fakes and are being sold as three different types of pots: a fake Weller mark is found on the bottom of the dark green pot on the left, the center white pot is the only item that might be authentic (black grease pencil mark on the bottom), and a fake Rookwood mark on the bottom of the gloss green pot on the right.

The photo on the right shows the fake mark on the pot mentioned in the group picture above. It has also shown up in different glaze finishes and colors as shown in the photo on the left.

This owl planter carries the same fake mark as the one used above. The shape is number "2972" and the flame mark indicates a production year of 1929. This owl planter fake has also been seen in dark marroon and brown glaze.
