Mosaic Tile Company Tile

 

Why someone would fake this Mosaic Tile Company tile is unclear, but it pops up frequently. Reproduced in Skowegan, ME.

The fake tile is an inch thick -- way too thick. Most importantly: the same odd green glaze has been used on a fake Grueby reindeer tile (all the green Grueby reindeer tiles are fakes) and a fake Grueby Tudor rose tile, which appears both in this green monochrome and in a polychrome version.
